Established in 2002 by BMXer Marc-Etienne “Med”Dalgé, Superstar and St. Martin exist as separate entities under France’s BMX Groupment. Superstar’s innovative line is designed to address the needs of street, park and trails riders. Consisting of two lightweight frames (Light My Fire and New Deal), Superstar’s line offers progressive geometry, patented designs (including the ‘Strawberry’ internal seat clamp) and attention to detail. The range also extends to include handlebars, stems, sprockets, brakes and micro-pegs. St. Martin’s focus is exclusively on the flatland scene, with three lightweight frames (Wells, ClassX and Happy Place) that feature flatland-specific geometry and innovative flat-friendly designs, along with a wide range of components that includes flat-specific handlebars, cranks, forks, brakes, seat posts and pegs. “Sidewall has shown an increased interest in Superstar and St. Martin products from first glance, which should prove to be helpful for our future in the US market. They offer fresh, new and practical ideas to the cumbersome task of hitching a bike rack to a car,” says Sidewall director Mark Owen. Effective immediately, Sidewall will be distributing Küat’s introductory racks, the Alpha and the Beta.

Established in 2006, Küat Innovations is a Springfield, Missouri-based bike rack firm founded by Luke Kuschmeader and Brian Atkinson. The partners aimed to engineer a lightweight, hand-welded bike rack that was affordable and produced in the USA. The results are Küat’s Alpha and Beta series, featuring easy adjustability, locking hitch pins, cable bike locks for security, anti-sway locks, adjustable carriages, tightening hitch cams and anti-theft construction. Both racks are constructed of clear-coated aluminum, lightweight, and can fold down flat enough for storage behind a pickup truck seat. Küat racks are also designed to carry bikes of all types, including BMX bikes. Essentially, Küat’s offers a better, more affordable bike rack than the competition.
